It was a long wonderful trip for me,
first of all, i would like to appreciate to every friends who participated in this China coffee fair.
i met so many wonderful Baristas, coffee sponsored..
also, met some old friends… 🙂
Regina Lian with Pete Licata
Regina Lian with Giacomo Vanelli and the Baristas from Benjing
Regina Lian with 上海Jascaffee王力咖啡 (right side) and 北京意拓咖啡 (left side)
During this competition, honestly to say, i didn’t feel any nervous at all. I feel more like it was a great stage to join in and to improve myself, all the Barista there are really professional and confidence. there is one more interesting thing i would like to share with every readers, i am the only Barista to choose Siphon to brewing the coffee, most of them are prefer drip style, so if you are prepare the competition in China, to use the different tools to join it, it might great promotion for yourself.
The coffee favor for China market prefer more like nuts, lemon, orange favor.. they don’t really like heavy taste, or smokey taste, but coffee latte still the biggest market in China. So in this competition, i am kind of adjust my proportion of coffee, 1:12 still to heavy for them. i would like to suggest to adjust till like 1:15 or 1:16. they are more focus on overall, aroma and body of coffee, it is very from Taiwan. (Taiwan will be a little focus on aftertaste).
In the language, yes.. it is a little different from Taiwanese and Chinese, but the confidence will be your best language to show your skills and professional. try to talk a little slowly and clearly. you should be more courtesy and elegance.
This competition was a important sign for us, We choose Taiwan local Alishan coffee and siphon to compete with other competitors which are very different from their taste. but we still got great result and ranking from this competition. This honer not just belongs to cantata kahve, this honor belongs to who all the members who join this game. thank you for all your support.
Cantata Kahve see you in the next round.
